Color Confidence for Quilters –One of my most popular workshops, this class build both color knowledge and confidence. If you have ever admitted that “you aren’t good with color,” this is the workshop for you! A highly informative workshop, you will learn color theory from the quilter’s perspective, how to use a color wheel to create quilt color schemes and how to translate your favorite colors into quilts that sizzle. A color kit is available for purchase for $15.00 with this class. It includes a box of 24 crayons, coloring pages, color theory card, large color wheel, fabric swatches, a value finder card, a color wheel fabric swatch pack, and color scheme handouts all in a portable case. Participants bring pictures from magazines and swatches of their favorite fabrics. Click here for the supply list

One Patch Piecing Techniques : The squares, diamonds, hexagon, tumbler, pyramid, apple core, clam shell, kite, and more. Make a simple sampler to learn how to hand- and machine-piece these great traditional shapes. Originally called “charm” quilts, these classic patterns were made from scraps and became known as “utility” quilts. Thousands of these old classic quilts survive in old trunks and attics, worn to tatters from love and use. Today these classic 0ne-patch quilts are a great way to use up stash and scrpas left over from other projects. And their beauty and utility have never diminished. WAIT!! There’s more. I bring my ACCU-QUILT die cutter along so we can cut shapes, swap fabrics with friends, and get right to sewing even faster! Half day workshop.
The Four Hour Bag : A wonderfully quick tote bag with a Seminole Pieced Band. This workshop is a great opportunkity to explore simple piecing, basic sewing technique, and lots of color and fabric creativity. In four hours we will make a fabulous tote bag — large enough to carry a cutting mat and ruler to classes — with a Seminole pieced band around the top.
Half day workshop. Click here for the supply list.
The Merry Go Round Quilt – or – Fun with the 60 Degree Ruler : This is a great quick project workshop. Working with a Jelly Roll you will learn how to use the 60 degree triangle ruler to make fast hexagon shaped blocks that are easily pieced in rows. No triangles to make, no set-in seams. The finished quilt is crib or throw sized. Two jelly rolls will make a nice lap sized quilt and 3 Jelly Rolls will make a great bed sized quilt. This really is a fun and fast project. Its also addicting. Once you try it you will want to make more using different size strips. — Click here for the supply list
